Hi! I'm Slix, and I've been following Johto Times since the very start! I run a Pokémon website called Poliwager, and I've been enjoying Pokémon for about 25 years! I started with Pokémon Blue and eventually played all of the generations up until now! I never really got into the anime or manga, but I had a ton of the cards when I was a kid and still have my collection, and I've gotten a few random packs over the years too (mainly when Poliwag cards were in them!). My favorite game is White 2, but I've also put more than 1,000 hours into my copy of Pokémon Diamond!

Hey all, ~~Scott here~~ I'm KomodoZero!
I've been a long time friend of Darren, through thick and thin, and have generally followed along with various projects of theirs. Just so happens that Pokemon is also a lifelong hyperfixation of mine, so a forum to actively discuss the franchise like the good ol' days will no doubt appease the brainworms.
I started with Yellow as the first game I ever owned, and I haven't missed a beat since (for better or worse). I would say my favourite is Platinum, but I also have a soft spot for Alola and I actually do like Scarlet and Violet recently (the Switch 2 gives is a massive, much needed boost). I'm looking forward to Z-A, but am a bit apprehensive over some of the decisions they've made, like the DLC and mandatory online ranked battles for the Kalos starter mega stones.
Hope to have plenty of discussions with you all!

Hey! I'm Dragonfree from The Cave of Dragonflies, a Pokémon fansite that I've been running since 2002 when I was twelve years old. Today, the website is still going, but I also proofread for Johto Times - as well as writing fanfic, drawing something every day, rambling about other fiction that I enjoy, and now raising a month-old daughter.

I'm Icelandic, and I first got into Pokémon via my cousins, with my first game being Pokémon Yellow, which I got for Christmas in 2000, when I was ten. While I missed out on the nineties era of Pokémon, and we didn't have the kind of Pokémania over here that I gather was a thing in the US, I have a lot of fond memories of playing the first couple generations of games and of the early-2000s online fandom. I'm one of those people who have stuck with Pokémon for its entire existence - never lost interest or fell out of it or stopped remembering the names of the new Pokémon. That makes this Christmas my 25th anniversary with Pokémon!

Dragonfree Welcome aboard! Cave of Dragonflies was actually the first Pokemon community I joined, though I think I got myself banned on the forum for being a dumb child who didn't really understand how they worked... Definitely got a warning for spamming, that's for certain.

MissingnoMaster Shiny hunter you say? I've built up a pretty large collection in recent years, though not quite close to living dex levels. I've even thrown up a spreadsheet tracking my progress.

Hello everyone!

This is my first time on a forum! I'm Sam and am kind of a Pokémon creator? I've been enjoying Johto times for a while now and have only recently starting making my own content.

I've been playing Pokémon since the release of Red and Blue so Johto times is exactly what I love and gives me all kinds of nostalgia.

I have recently started to make videos documenting bring Pokémon along on everyday adventures with the backdrop of hunting a shiny Totodile on Crystal, very fitting!

Look forward to reading/learning about everyone and everything.

Missingno. Master here! Been reading Johto Times for a while now. I don't know if it was from the very beginning, but I think it had to be from pretty early on. And as far as Pokémon goes, I've been into it since way back in 2000. First games were Yellow and Red, and I've been obsessed ever since. Even made a few romhacks- one each of Red and Crystal- both centered around starting with a Koffing, since Weezing is my favorite Pokémon. And I'm really big on Shiny hunting, too. I actually have a complete Shiny living dex (species-wise, anyway- I don't have all the different forms), at least insofar as what's actually possible to get Shiny.

My Pokémon obsession started early, I got my first job to save up for a Game boy color and Pokémon Blue. I think my favorite classic game is Pokémon Silver, and my favorite recent game is Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

I'm more of a lurker in social communities so you might not see me post much but I'm sure I will if I have something to say 😃

Hi all! I'm T.K. Arispe (TK for short is fine), and I'm thrilled to see a Johto Times message board as I'm a big fan of what the newsletter does. I've been a huge Pokémon fangirl since the good old days of Red and Blue, and now I have a niece who loves Pokémon and it's so wonderful to enjoy the franchise with her. I'm mostly into the video games, although I keep tabs on the anime, and I taught my niece how to play the TCG as I used to play it at my local Pokémon League ages ago. Always up for some nostalgia about that first big Pokémon boom in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Gold/Silver/Crystal are my all-time favorite core series games (Gen V and Legends: Arceus are a close second), and I like a lot of Pokémon species, but if I was pressed for a favorite I'd have to say Lugia. It was a magical time when Red/Blue had just been released in the West and all sorts of tantalizing rumors about Gen II were already coming out of Japan.

Outside of Pokémon, I'm an illustrator and fantasy/sci-fi author with a keen interest in science and engineering. I credit the amazing Pokémon TCG artists with inspiring me to pursue a creative career.
