As documented at length in my Johto Times interview last year, I've been collecting the TCG since 1999 and have most sets complete (pretty much everything except the sets released in 2025, as the level of ridiculousness in terms of scalping, bad pull rates, and secondary market pumping continues to make the hobby increasingly untenable). I was just looking through some of my old pictures and wanted to share!
There are so many promos from the early years that Wizards of the Coast left in the dust. I wish we got them.
Although, Nintendo/TPCi were equally guilty when they first got hold of the TCG:
And even in more modern years there's been all sorts of weird and interesting promo sets that were left behind in Japan:
The amount of cut cards from TAG ALL STARS at the end of the Sun and Moon block that got left behind in Japan has been a sticking point with me since 2019:
Although every now and then, other countries get some odd exclusives as well:
And most of all, I'll always fondly remember that the Unified Minds set has three different cards that represent Psypoke:
