Nick15 Sadly, both the price and key card are both fully confirmed.
It's awkward, as the game price debate is rife with bad faith and dubious definitions of "value", but when game prices are only going up, especially when Nintendo promised variable prices depending on the project (we haven't seen a "cheap" title from them yet), it's hard not to get discouraged into buying a game you might well fully enjoy and make the most of it in terms of play time.
On other platforms, the high launch price can actually be fairly easily avoided, just so long as you're patient enough to wait a few months to a year for the prices to drop, but Nintendo is stubbornly adamant, even outright indignant, about maintaining their brand value, never dropping prices below a meagre 30% as their "deep" discounts five years along the line.
To the masses, this is probably not as big of a deal, though key cards are proving to be generally unpopular. Physical sales on some third party Switch 2 releases have actually been fairly poor, and there are a bunch of key cards that have dropped in price dramatically as a result. I know Bravely Default and No Sleep for Kaname Date have dropped into the £20-25 price range (and I still won't buy them). Consumers are sending a message, basically. If you won't get the full 64GB card (which is expensive, not arguments there) you might as well just go digital only, at least there you aren't wasting plastic on packaging.
Anyway, I feel I should leave this discussion at that, before it derails the entire thread. So how about that desaturated Pikachu? Mouldy Snorlax?
