hello everyone!!! colours here. a lovely @Sheep told me about this place, so i decided to check it out and sign up! for those unfamiliar, i'm the head administrator of bulbagarden forums and always word my posts in lowercase because that's just My Aesthetic. nice to meet everyone!!

my favourite pokemon is shaymin, particularly sky form (though i love land form, still), and my journey with pokemon and pokemon gaming is very long and would probably bore people to tears so i'll spare that; all i have to say is that it's been a wild ride and my interest in the franchise is holding pretty steady even through its ups and downs. c:

hey I'm queenie, i found out about this forum through the johto times discord announcement. i have been playing pokemon since 2007 but i got into collecting the cards a bit before that.
i love legends arceus and my favourite region is sinnoh, with galar and paldea tied for close second. i love lots of the spinoff games too, as well as shiny hunting.
i run the tumblr blog pokemondiamondversion, and i also twitch stream and do youtube videos on pokemon ✨

Howdy everyone, my name's Des, and I'm excited to see the forums up and running! I've been following the Johto Times on Mastodon since 2023.

A bit about my Pokemon journey: I was in grade school around the time the anime and the WotC TCG took off in the US. My first Pokemon game was Blue. I'm trying to get into some of the newer games, but I've only played Gen I-IV, some of the spinoffs (I love the original Mystery Dungeon), Pokemon Go, and some of the 3DS remakes. Right now, I'm playing Legends: Arceus (almost done and loving it!) and Yellow (on Virtual Console). I intend to play Black next, then maybe replay Diamond and Pearl.

I'm currently hunting for FireRed and Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team to close out my GBA collection. Emerald is my all-time favorite. My most treasured Pokemon memorabilia are a pair of Pokemon TCG Southern Island postcard sets from 2001, and my favorite Pokemon is Alakazam!

As someone who has a huge appreciation of the Pokémon TCG Southern Islands Collection, I can understand why you like those postcards. I was fortunate enough to get a set of them myself earlier this year, after wanting the whole set for 22 years (now working through collecting it). I can't wait to read more about your love of Pokémon across this forum in the months and years ahead!

Hello all! I'm disp0n.

I got started in gen 3 which still remains my favourite region. I've played since then with only a brief break in gen 5 because I was starting high school and Pokémon wasn't cool I guess, but started back up in gen 6!

I have a lot of hobbies and have been pushing myself to spend more time being creative, as I've learned it brings me a lot of joy. I love photography and music, and I've started making videos about my Pokémon journey recently to express myself and learn a new skill (and to add to my already huge list of hobbies lol). I also like shiny hunting and right now a big focus of mine is working on my Ruby DTQ, on team member #2 right now!

Other than that I like bouldering and spending time outdoors in the Swedish forest. Really looking forward to this forum because I miss them!

I'm Truth (a person, not the concept). My favorite Pokémon used to be Primeape, but now that Annihilape is around, that's shifted. Gen II is my favorite for aesthetics, with Gen V as my favorite for everything else.

I grew up with Pokémon at the beginning in the late-90s. I was as into it as any other kid during Pokemania, but mostly lapsed out by the middle of Gen II. I still played the games though very casually. In 2023, I got back into the fandom after finishing my dissertation. I mostly got interested in the anime again, and since then I've been making heavily-researched videos about the anime's history and staff. I promise not to do the "content creator" thing here and bring those up out of context.

Sheep Just wanted to reply and say how happy I am that sites like PokéCommunity still exist. PokéCommunity was one of my favorite forums to trawl through looking at fan reactions from the early 2000s.

Thank you!! I completely agree, as someone who has been on fan communities since the late 1990s/early 2000s. I'm really thankful some sites have managed to continue their legacy so we can still access all their content now in the mid-2020s. It's a time capsule, and brings me a whole lot of joy! Welcome to the forum as well Truth, I completely agree with you that gen II is amazing aesthetics-wise and V is great for pretty much everything as a whole haha, so it's awesome to see that we are similar in that regard. ^^

Wiseape Lovely to meet you, thank you for joining our community. Lugia is such a cool Pokémon, and was the reason I wanted Pokémon Silver so much (I ended up getting Crystal instead). I am happy to hear you are happy with the state of Pokémon, and you will find a range of feelings and opinions on Pokémon across the forum, both positive and negative (from myself included), but as long as everyone can come together constructively and respect for each other as fellow fans, I am sure it will be great to read them all! Looking forward to your contributions 🙂

Hello, I’m Wiseape. I first played Pokémon blue when I was a wee lad. Then I was blown away by the move to colour with Pokémon yellow!! Funny to think how old that makes me sound. My favourite Pokémon is Lugia because I thought Pokémon Silver was out of this world at the time. I’ve never watched the anime except a bit when I was the kid. I think I’m one of the minority who is happy with the state of the Pokémon franchise.

Loving the sound of this community. I hope it grows and grows.

Hello all, my name's Weh. Not much to say about myself, just an artist that, naturally, enjoys Pokemon. I've been very dissatisfied with the direction that discussion has taken online and as a frequenter of forums back in the day (anyone else hang out on the Animal Crossing Community forums? lol) the moment I realized this was a thing I was eager to hop on and give it a shot for a chance at some more enjoyable and relaxed conversation about Pokemon again.

In regards to Pokemon, I've been playing since around the release of Ruby & Sapphire. I admit that I just have a huge Pokemon bias, so I'm a pretty big fan of almost all the games short of, idk, probably Pokemon Dash. My favorites are Crystal, Ultra Moon, and Legends Arceus (perhaps to be supplanted by Legends Z-A next week...? We'll see!) Also a big fan of the anime (depending on the season...) with my favorite being the Sun & Moon saga. I'm an on-&-off collector of the cards, and I swear one day I'll read all of Pokemon Adventures... one day. Favorite Pokemon is Magneton! Though, Pykumuku, Whimsicott, and Swampert are up there as well...

Nice to meet all of you, and here's to lots of fruitful discussion. Shout-outs to everybody who got this all set up!

Hi, I was featured in last week's issue of Johto Times, Vol 3 Issue 40. Obviously, a huge fan of Gen 2, but I've played every generation multiple times. My favorite Pokemon is Vulpix, although I also really like Jumpluff and Umbreon.

Also, BlueMoonFalls Thank you for all the work you've done with your website! It means a lot to fans of Gen 1/2 like myself! The hue previewer is an absolute life saver.

So where to begin.
I was around Pokemania first hit the USA.
Pokemon First Movie I admit had my interest Mewtwo and Mew. And of course Team Rocket.

Since my father was in the US Army (20 years serve RIP) we are always traveling locations.
Not often make friends fearing of losing them (this predate widely available internet). Also being introvert and having ADHD I don't social very well. I guess I am weird.

One day I got into the trading card game.
I was told there was a TCG league run by the Wizard of the Coast. I remember spending my Saturdays with my backpack walking all the way to my local league with my cards. Being young and naive I traded for a Gameboy Color with Gold version. There I was fond of the Johto region.

Then we had internet. Was there I learn I can connect with fella fans. Strange how Pokemon set a chain reaction. I remember was encouraged to draw from Neopets and I was using DeviantArt to host my terrible art.

Then I was found by Gemma from Pokemon Rebirth on DeviantArt. Despite drama with the anime (why they change a male Rocket Basho) I got the courage to meet Veronica Taylor for her in my terrible Team Rocket grunt cosplay at Albuquerque New Mexico. (I am surprised ACE wasn't documented. Albuquerque Comic Expo.)

Then a Team Rocket cosplay group found me in Phoenix Arizona later. I told the leader I wasn't around here and from another state. Something to do with my grandmother inheritance.

The leader?..... Good enough! I am trainee and can hang out whenever I visit. (10 years and still going.)
Thanks to them I cosplay as a Team Rocket grunt whenever I get the chance.

I finally deal with my inner demons and went solo to Denver Colorado to see more original voice actors.
I meet Ted Lewis, Eric Stuart, Megan Hollingshead, and Dan Green. I do know a certain somebody be happy once I sent her care package once things in my family settle. (I had few deaths.)

TDLR
Pokemon help me socialize despite being awkward and having ADHD.
