Once upon a time, the Internet was swarming with Pokémon forums. Now there are still quite a few, but back in the early to mid 2000's, there was a Pokémon Forum on every corner, and lots of people who joined a forum and enjoyed it, went on to start a forum of their own.
Did you join any Pokémon forums back then which are no longer around? Was any of them your favorite? Did you create your own forum? Do you have any nice stories to share about the forums of yore?
(Note: the purpose of this thread is to reminisce about forums which are no longer available. Discussions about currently open forums, which may also be interesting as long as they're kept civil, can be had on a different thread).
I joined many Pokémon forums back in the day. Most of them were forums created by my online friend. I wouldn't say no to a friend who decided to start a new project and wanted me in. But most of them had very little activity.
The one who shone the brightest - albeit shortly, only in 2005 - was Tsuyoi's Lair. Created by Cass Black, Tsuyoi's Lair was sort of an offshoot of The PokéMasters Forums where we could share stories and play games which the admins of the time considered pointless or simply didn't understand. There was some really good writing on that forum, as well as some silly but relaxing games, fun conversations and the one big game: AC/CC. What was AC/CC? It's hard to explain... It was basically a free-form forum RPG which spanned several threads and went on for no less than 15 years. Held mostly on TPM, it found a temporary home in Tsuyoi's Lair when its original home was going through hard times. I remember that, during my trip to Finland in 2005 - which was exciting but also frightening because I was all alone most of the time in a country whose language I did not speak - I spent about two hours a day browsing Tsuyoi's Lair and making posts while sipping blue fruit tea. It also holds a special place in my heart for yet another reason: it was by playing one of those silly games on Tsuyoi's Lair that I stumbled across the webcomic Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, which became my introduction to the furry fandom and through which I have made some of my best friends. So, while that forum is no longer around, I will always remember it with love.
