Johto Times - Ask Me Anything

One of the things I would love to do here on the forum is a series of AMAs (Ask me anything) which can allow users to ask questions to guests, and ask them anything! There's different ways an AMA can work, and topics can be restricted so people don't get too personal. I think it would be really cool to invite some notable guests to speak here, and get the community involved in the process by asking them questions. We would then publish these Q&As in a feature as part of the newsletter.

I've got a few people in mind that I would love to invite to this, but the priority currently is getting enough users to the forum to make this worthwhile. After all, we need people to ask the questions, right? 😃 That being said, if anyone has any ideas and suggestions for guests, that would be great! I would be open to fansite owners, and people closely connected to the series who could offer some interesting insight.

I would love if we could do some AMAs with people involved in production of the games/anime. I love hearing about their creative process and the conceptual development of the franchise. I think this is a wonderful idea and I hope you're able to do it!

This sounds like a cool idea! It'd be especially neat to get some of the guests who've worked on the franchise in some capacity to do little AMAs, but understandably a lot of those sorts of people are pretty busy. Fansite owners would be really cool too, though - visitors often don't get the chance to interact directly with the owners of the larger sites, and often people have disappeared from the fandom and this'd be a rare opportunity for people who used to be fans of their sites to express their appreciation directly and perhaps learn if they still have something cool they remember or can share particular insights not asked about in the interview!

I'm far from unreachable myself, but I'd at least be down to do an AMA if it'd get the ball rolling on the fansite end.

Sounds like a great idea!

You know... When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought the purpose was for us to ask you anything. That could also be interesting, since it's usually you who asks people questions.
