Hey all! I'm Hopscorch, and I'm a long time Trainer of many many years, starting with Pokémon Hey You, Pikachu! and Pokémon Crystal. I'm also a run-of-the-mill indie game developer whose roots started with RPG Maker XP in 2010 and attempting to make a fangame or two over the years until I started to make my own, original games (mostly RPGs) several years later. Besides that, I've been a proud pixel artist since Generation IV. I also dabble in music composition using the Generation V soundfont when the mood strikes. Pokémania definitely struck me if that tells you much of anything. While I appreciate the past and hold onto my memories, I also prefer modern Pokémon too. Very greatly so.
Despite my enormous love for bunnies and Cinderace, my #1 favorite Pokémon is actually Kantonian Raichu. As a Trainer, my preferred types are Fire, Water, Electric, Steel, Fighting, and Psychic. My favorite Pokémon tend to happen to align with the primary color scheme for early Trainer designs! So much in fact that I tend to draw many things in only those colors! Cinderace scratches all that itch in its design very easily. No surprise that my first three preferred types align with it either. Call me a Tri-Attack Trainer!
Other favs? My favorite in-game location in the whole wide world is Ecruteak City. My favorite thing about the Pokémon games...? The music! Ask me anything about the music! Other than that, my favorite spin-offs are: The Orre games, PMD Explorers of Time, Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia, and Pokemon UNITE. I still kick around UNITE when I feel fiery and want to knock people down a peg (puns intended).
One more fun fact about me: I finished the National Dexes during Generation III and IV as they happened. It was well worth all the work for all the memories. Haven't done it again since. Anywhozits, I encountered Johto Times a couple times a few years ago on and off thru BlueSky, but I didn't figure out it had a forum until recently! Nice to meet you all!
