Hi! I'm Kimba!

I've been subscribed to Johto Times since very early on. To be honest, I don't even remember how the newsletter originally came to my attention (possibly the interview with Slix in Vol 1, Issue 18, as Slix is a friend of mine and our fansites have been affiliated for years). I absolutely love reading Johto Times, I get such as nostalgia kick out of it - especially interviews with old fansites, and current sites that my own site is affiliated with.

I have my own Pokémon fansite, PokéPrint, which I have been running for fifteen years now! I’m currently in the process of revamping the site (which has been a slow process between working full-time and going through the process of selling a house and building a new one haha!). I'm hoping I'll be able to publish new content and a new layout design for it soon.

I first got into Pokémon in 2008 at the age of 13, when my younger brother was given a copy of Pokémon Pearl for his birthday, and he let me play a little bit. I was given Pokémon Diamond shortly after, and I've been completely obsessed ever since. Everyone who knows me in real life knows me as "the weird Pokémon girl", and I wouldn't have it any other way!

hi hi!! i'm buggy (he/xe/it, normal/bug type). ive been a pokemon fan my whole life but not very active in online fandom about it. im mostly a collector and have many living dexes! i also draw fanart a lot when i have time (mostly consisting of oc designs etc 😅)... my tumblr (trashguts) probably has the most complete collection of things ive drawn, you can search for things tagged pokemon specifically on there.

i havent had a lot of time for actual gaming lately but i do play pokemon go pretty actively!

my current goal is that im saving up for a gameboy printer and a copy of crystal so i can play with those features. specifically, the printing feature you unlock when you catch all the unown forms-- i can't find any detailed information on what that looks like or entails anywhere, so i'm hoping to put everything together and play with it myself! thatll probably be my birthday present for myself this winter lol :3

trubbishguts Hey there and welcome to the forum! I truly hope you're able to get hold of a Game Boy Printer and a copy of Pokémon Crystal. I feel bad knowing I own both of these things, yet haven't attempted to do it (yet).

Hello everyone! I'm ValyceNegative, been following Johto Times since its beginnings (disappeared for a bit because I'm not so great at using Substack...). As someone who lived the first generation Pokémania of the 90s firsthand, I find Johto Times to hit the perfect spot of nostalgia and information and I applaud the efforts of recovering and cherishing so many memories of past decades, be them virtual or in real life.

I see so many known names in this thread, I anticipate this will be quite a stellar forum! I'm a but of a lurker usually, but will contribute whenever I can. :3

As for proper introductions... I'm a freelance illustrator and comic colourist, publishing stories under my indie label and appearing at comic conventions all over Europe. I take inspiration from a lot of aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s, including Pokémon of course!
In my free time I collect Game Boy games and mainly play retro stuff or board games; I also do scrapbooking, trekking, go sightseeing, collect enamel pins... uh, in short I like to keep myself busy! XP

Hello everyone! MacroNemesis here, but most people call me Macro for short. I've been following Johto Times on Bluesky and Mastodon for a while through a different username (NemesContent). I started playing Pokemon since I was 6 since I was a fan of the anime as lil kid. I'll never forget my first play through of Crystal with Totodile as my starter. I've been playing the series ever since. Crystal still being my favoriate in terms of region and gen 2 aesthetics.

When I'm not playing Pokemon, I'm usually playing other games, video making, messing with tech (tinkering with linux mostly lol), and on the rare occasion drawing.

I joined the forum as a pseudo-break from social media. I realized that it might be worth join smaller communities to have casual conversations in as opposed the constant noise of social media. I don't know how active I'll be, but I look forward to interacting with the forum when I do. 🙂

Not sure if anyone here is still looking for info on the community, but if so, I can try to answer some questions.
