I'm looking for some help with some research! I am helping Goppier and UndeadxReality with research for lost events. In gen 3 for the release of FireRed and LeafGreen, Toys R Us hosted a Trade and Battle Day where the employees would trade version exclusive and hard to find Pokemon to people. These Pokemon were on distribution carts copied by Nintendo of America and sent to all Toys R Us stores in the country, and each Pokemon distributed was identical to each other. The Pokemon had an OT of JEREMY and an ID of 13579 (from LeafGreen intended to be traded to people with FireRed), and 24680 (from FireRed intended to be traded to people with LeafGreen).
This event was severely underattended. It was announced through an email sent to Toys R Us, and dedicated fans found out what was being distributed earlier than attended, so a lot of people weren't interested in going to Toys R Us on this day to trade for the Pokemon on the distribution carts.
During the early online trading days, many of the Pokemon from this event found their way into the hands of event collectors and event researchers but there were some Pokemon that ended up having been faked for years. It turns out there a select few Pokemon from this event have never been seen in online trading forums, specifically Slowpoke and Sandshrew. We are looking for the Slowpoke and Sandshrew that were distributed from this event!
There are people who have this Slowpoke and Sandshrew and some of them have been contacted. One person was able to send us the summary screens from the GBA games showing the stats and movesets! The problem is that because each Slowpoke is identical and each Sandshrew is identical, we are looking for something further than what you can find through in-game screens: the IVs! It's very important to know the IVs of the distributed Slowpoke and Sandshrew for preservation efforts. In order to find the IVs, the best way would be to back up the save file and view them in an editor. Another way to view the IVs is to use Rare Candies to get them to a reasonable level (such as 50) and estimate the IVs from the stats. Even these estimates will be helpful to me.
What I'm asking: if anyone or anyone you know has attended this event and still has a Slowpoke or Sandshrew from this event with an OT of JEREMY and ID of 13579, please contact anyone who's involved in this effort for preservation! I would love to credit you!
