Your greatest Pokémon nicknames?

One of the fun things about the Pokémon games is the ability to nickname your critters and get emotionally attached. What are some of your favorite nicknames you've given your Pokémon?

I remember in my Blue Version I named a Magmar "Magmarashi" (Quilava's Japanese name) because I had learned about the Gen II Pokemon and thought "Magmarashi" was just about the coolest name for a Fire-type ever.

Moving way forward, in Sword I got an Arctovish and named it "Ariston", which is a reference to a specimen of the prehistoric fish Leedsichthys that was discovered in 2001 and named "Ariston" after a washing machine model. I'm very proud of that nerd moment.

I have a few good ones, namely some for shinies.
I have a shiny Meowscarada from GO (gee, getting multiples of shinies in GO, what a concept) that I opted to name Nepeta, the scientific name for cat mint. I feel it suits her perfectly.
I also have a shiny Gardevoir, an alpha no less, that I called Dizzy, a character from Guilty Gear. Dizzy (the character, not the Gardevoir) has a blue/black colour scheme primarily, which fits Mega Gardevoir to a T. Now if only Pokemon weren't locked into Z-A when transferred...
Lastly, for now, the shiny Tinkaton with the Intense mark who I named Sena, after a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 who also happens to be a smol girl with a huge hammer. Sena the Feisty, brilliant.

I rarely nickname my Pokémon. I think I called a Typhlosion "Blaze" in Pokémon HGSS, and I think I called my Espeon "Sunset" in Ruby & Sapphire

I think the best one was when I called my Rillaboom "Donkey Konga"

I name my pokemon cute names from time to time. Quite notable was my Cyndaquil(who evolved into Typhlosion) named Cindy. One of my Flareons is named Karoteon. Other than that my names are not that creative, sometimes they are just names loosely based on the animals the pokemon is based on, like an Ekans named "Snek", or Sentret named "Furr", or my attempts to translate the pokemon names into my native language.

Usually when I nickname my Pokémon (which I do on some games and not others, depending on my mood when I start the game), I'll just sort of go with whatever the first thing that pops into my head is when I'm on the naming screen, although there was at least one game where I tried to go with fanfic character nicknames where I could recall a character of that species in a fic. I think the most notable double meaning nickname I've used was Shining for my shiny Gastly in FireRed, after the movie.

As I mentioned in the thread I made about it, in my Platinum hardcore nuzlocke, I went with the naming convention of tools and utilities (because it felt silly at the time). Despite some really goofy choices, I ended up getting attached to my final team, particularly a Jolteon named Dremel. Sandpaper the Garchomp (I wish it had Rough Skin, but that's its hidden ability) and a Roserade named Pruners were also favourites, but without Knife the Weavile I wouldn't have been able to beat Cynthia in the end.

Back in the RBY days, whenever I put a Pidgey in my team, I had the knowledge of training it to eventually beccome Pidgeot so I took the name of the latter and added either 'ic' or 'tic' at the end. The result?

Pidgeotic = idiotic
Pidgeottic = idiottic

No reason other than making the nickname phonetically rhyme with 'idiotic.' I thought that was the smartest name pre-teen me ever made!

I learned with Swoosh and SV that if I nickname my Pokemon on the first go-around, I will not remember their proper names later. I know the evolved form of Buttahdawg is Dachsbun, but I'd have to Google to find the base form's name.

Anyway, I like dad humor. Nyakapurra (after Shinsuke Nakamura) for Litten was one of my greatest ideas.

i've had some good nicknames over the decades! some recent ones and older ones from memory:

"Little Beepo" (LILBEEPO): an altaria i raised in pokemon colosseum who was constantly going hyper mode in combat (due to how the personality influences it); friends of mine who watched me play in discord calls would start singing the battle theme, but would be singing it like "BEEPO BEE, BEEPO BEE, BEEPO BEE LITTLE BEEPO...." it's definitely one of my fonder recent memories.
a flygon who i gave my deadname to when i was younger, which i obviously won't put here, but i always think of her when i think of my deadname now
BELTANE, my shiny typhlosion that i had on my HG cartridge at one point (i believe i migrated him later!); i remember sitting in the casino with him a lot, playing voltorb flip...
Clump, my Clodsire from Scarvio who was one of the three pokemon i used for the E4
Doggy, my quagsire from my pokemon crystal mastery run (who was the subject of a tumblr post i made that got a modest 1.5k notes)
Nyquil, a cyndaquil name i reuse a lot that lead me to realize i have an allergic reaction to nyquil (which i posted about on tumblr with full context)
cilantro, a dragonite i own in scarlet, who i also made a semi popular tumblr post about. (i reused the name for a shiny one later too)
okay this isn't a name i gave it, but an acquaintance hacked me a shiny eevee in DPPT and i asked him to give it a name, so he named it GRAYFOX, which at the time i was annoyed by, but now i just think it's hilarious. just what it says on the tin
