Pokémon Elite 2000

Pokémon Elite 2000 (PE2K), a now defunct website which offered the very latest Pokémon news, and a wealth of content focused on Pokémon video games, anime, trading cards, and even a sprite resource made up of assets from the games. The website opened on August 28th 2000, and was run by volunteers from around 2007, before finally closing for the final time in 2015.

Personally speaking, I used to love visiting this website, and one I would frequent to get accurate Pokémon news. I would sneak a look at it during computer classes at school. Its owner (Ray) was someone I frequently spoke with on MSN Messenger, and thanks to Johto Times, we reconnected and was able to put together an interview during the earliest days of the website.

I've never visited PE2K, but back in 2009 and 2010 I was told it was a good place to trade event Pokemon. I had been given a lot of options for websites to join and visit to trade for event Pokemon, but I couldn't fit PE2K into my rotation of sites to trade on. Years later it turns out that there were specific traders there that were only able to be contacted there and one of those traders would be a good trading contact of a friend I knew. They provided my friend with a lot of Japanese events which the contact helped obtain in person. It would have been nice to talk to that source contact if I had their information, but I only have their username. I'm really interested in the experiences people have when they go to events.
