The results of the poll were revealed yesterday!
As someone whose first Pokemon game was Ruby, and who still enjoys Emerald to this day, I'm glad to see it got the top spot. My favorite Pokemon game is B2/W2, so it sneaking into the top 5 isn't half bad, I guess.
I'm kind of surprised to see the original R/B/Y ranked so high, honestly. It feels like I always see people dog on those games for being the glitchiest things known to mankind (even if a lot of the glitches require specific setup that you're likely not gonna accidentally do in order to execute).
Personally, I also feel like gen 7 is maybe a little overhated? The slow start to the game is definitely rough, but I love the unique challenges the game provides (although that Araquanid in US/UM is pretty rude...). I also love the Ultra Beasts, and how unique they are as Pokemon. I suppose there is some level of sentimental value I hold towards gen 7, as it's the first generation where I tried VGC, although I don't think it really contributes too much bias, personally.
I'm also a bit disappointed that S/V and Legends Z-A are ranked so low, but I'm aware of the fanbase's opinions on those games, so it's not too surprising.
