How much do you care about what Poké Balls you catch Pokémon in?

Are you someone who likes to match the color of the Poké Ball to the Pokémon? Is this sort of thing important to you, and are there certain Poké Balls you find less appealing visually than others? Or do you not care at all?

I tend to avoid using the fancier PokéBalls, I would prefer to catch them in the regular Poké Ball, Great, and Ultra. I even try to avoid Master Balls. I think i'd like to try and catch some in Premiere Balls at some point though, or even Luxury Balls! I think it'd be neat to have a whole team of them

I'm usually not terribly fussy about which balls I use, but I generally have a rule to always catch shinies in Premier Balls. I still have some odd ones out though, like the shiny alpha Slowpoke I accidentally used a Heal Ball on and it just caught so OK, at least it matches I guess.

I actually care a lot and honestly find it kinda dumb we can’t switch the type of poke ball a ‘mon is in after we own them. Like yeah, there’s novelty to ‘it took extra effort to catch this ‘mon in this ball type’ but for the most part it’s just damn RNG.

It should be something that takes some kind of effort/resources, for sure, but I feel like we should have actual control of what type of ball our ‘mons go in after we’ve trained them sufficiently, spend some kind of special resource and/or money, I dunno. Something.

As it stands, this system feels like many aspects of Pokemon - an arbitrary hold over from legacy games that is completely unnecessary and needlessly stifling.

Personally I don't care too much but I find it gives more perceived value and trade value if they're caught in certain balls. Not even balls that fit the aesthetic, but even ball combinations that seem to be rare or have never existed before on that particular Pokemon. It was really cool catching my Miraidon in a Beast Ball, it was hard but it makes it more wanted and in demand. It's a limited quantity ball, most people won't catch Miraidon in a Beast Ball, and it's something cool to have in your possession.

I remember back in gen 4 I caught everything in like 3 balls: Ultra Ball, Dusk Ball or Quick Ball. I didn't care about the aesthetic back then but to be fair there weren't many cool balls to catch things in that's limited time or like tougher to catch than another ball. Although catching everything in Luxury Balls or Premier Balls would be cool.

My brother liked to catch everything in a Poke Ball. It doesn't match the aesthetic on a lot of Pokemon but since it has basic catch rates, that's another cool ball to catch things in.

I just did the Diancie sidequest in Z-A and the opportunity to catch it (her?) in whatever ball I wanted was not one I wasted.
It's catch rate is absurd though, easily the hardest thing to catch, but they do at least give you infinite attempts to do so. As a result, I went with the Premier Ball. I had 92 of them before I started, I ended with 35...

I still need to do the Meloetta event in SV, come to think of it, I could get another mythical in whatever ball I wanted (it'll be a Premier Ball again...). I'll probably have to do the Harvest/Trick/Leppa Berry trick with Trevenant so it doesn't run out of PP and Struggle itself to death though.

I like to match Pokémon with a visually fitting ball when it's feasible, but it's not the most important thing in the world for me, either. Like, would I have loved to catch that Shiny Kricketune in Omega Ruby in an Ultra Ball? Absolutely. But when the thing's on its last turn of Perish Song and it's broken out of every ball you've hucked its way, it's at that point you gotta ask yourself, is it worth the risk? So yeah, next turn, I went straight for the Master Ball, zero regrets.

KomodoZero I did that sidequest, but I went a little more overboard- I was intent on getting Diancie in my one and only Love Ball, and while this was absolutely brutal, I got there in the end, and regret nothing. It doesn't autosave when Diancie faints, so I'd just KO it, go for the Love Ball, reset when it fainted, and repeat the process. It took me a decent chunk of that afternoon, but it didn't feel like a waste of my time, which I think is what's important.

I personally dont care all that much about the pokeball i use. Most of the time its by highest catch rate, or if it makes sense like the net ball, or sometimes because its funny like a nest ball on legendary.

The best is when funny actually is successful.
